What the Mayan city of Valeriana discovered may have looked like
A great Mayan city has been discovered centuries after it disappeared beneath the jungles of Mexico.
Archaeologists found pyramids, stadiums, inter-regional roads and amphitheatres in the southeastern province of Campeche. The complex called Valeriana.
There are no photos of the city, so the BBC’s Georgina Rannard shows us a visual rendering of what the city looked like.
