The best iPhone accessories of 2024
Peak Design’s iPhone tripod is a sturdy, well-designed aluminum frame that folds down to the size of a credit card. You pay a premium for build design and quality, with a small hex key even built into the three legs to tighten it up, if needed.
With the sturdy little ball head, you can adjust the angle of your iPhone while in tripod mode. Even better, it can attach firmly, magnetically, to the phone in both vertical and horizontal orientations. This makes it the perfect stand for your phone even if you’re not trying to capture video or photos.
You also don’t need to break out the Peak Design case to confirm it’s working, although it feels solidly connected if you do. Any MagSafe iPhone locks onto the peripheral, keeping it securely in place on this mobile tripod whether in use or folded up.
There are plenty of affordable MagSafe phone stands, like Moft’s Snap-On Stand and Wallet, which supports your iPhone while holding a few credit cards, Anker’s MagGo phone holder, and the ubiquitous PopSockets. While MagSafe accessories like these are convenient, they won’t be as strong as something securely clipped to your smartphone or smartphone case. All the MagSafe stands, wallets, chargers, and other accessories I’ve tried have eventually fallen off when I applied enough force. However, there is no sticky residue or need to use a specific case with the Peak Design tripod. — Matt Smith, Head of UK Office
