“I want him [Anthony Joshua] Retirement – Ade Oladipo

Analyst Ade Oladipo wants Anthony Joshua to retire if he doesn’t fight Daniel Dubois in a rematch. Ade points out that the 35-year-old Joshua (28-4, 25 KOs) has “half a billion in the bank,” and wants to see him retire “with his skills intact.”

Joshua was brutally knocked out in the fifth round by IBF heavyweight champion Dubois on September 21 at Wembley Stadium in London. Despite Joshua’s brief moment of success in the fifth, he was stymied by the young lion Dubois (22-2, 21 KOs).

It is believed that Joshua is still standing so that he can fight Tyson Fury two or three times and make more money. After those two to three fights are completed, Joshua may face Oleksandr Usyk in a trilogy match to see if he can avenge one of his two previous losses against him.

Joshua says he loves fighting, and it’s clear that he enjoys the money he gets from these fights. It is not clear whether Joshua’s goal is to become the first millionaire in the history of boxing. Given AJ’s popularity and how British fans don’t give up on their heroes when their careers sink, he has a pretty good shot at becoming a millionaire.

It may require his promoter, Eddie Hearn, to guide him carefully, but you could argue that a fight with Tyson Fury could be the one to do that. Fury has no power, and his boxing resistance is 100% gone at 36 after his three fights against Deontay Wilder. Joshua would have a good chance of destroying Fury in two or three rounds if he jumped on him like he did on Francis Ngannou.

He had won his previous four bouts before the loss to Dubois, but those were against fights that his promoter, Eddie Hearn, had put him in to rebuild after two losses against Usyk.

“There is no. No, I want him to retire. I was honest. I will not change the way I sing,” said Ade Oladipo to Pro Boxing fans when he was asked who Anthony Joshua should fight next. “Not because I don’t think AJ can compete with other heavyweights. You can put AJ in there, but I just feel what you want.”

If Joshua were to fight Dubois and then get knocked out, he might consider retirement. However, given that the rematch will not go ahead, there is no chance of Joshua hanging up the gloves.

“If it’s not going to be a repeat of Dubois,” said Ade about wanting Joshua to retire if he doesn’t fight Dubois again. “If Fury beats Usyk, will AJ fight Fury? I don’t know. Fury’s fight is huge financially. I understand why they want it. But for me, as a friend of AJ, I would like to see him die in all abilities. [intact]. What does he have, half a billion in the bank? It’s not a bad run.”

I think Joshua wants the Fury fight, and he wants to give the fans and Honorable Turki Alalshikh that match. A lot of people want to see Joshua stay to fight Fury, and he doesn’t want to disappoint them.

“Why does everyone want it to go on, on, and on in this game that is such a dangerous game? If it’s not Dubois, for me, I think it should be retirement, but that’s just me,” said Ade.

Boxing fans want Joshua to continue because he brings sport to his fights. He has a Wladimir Klitschko style in his fights, where you never know if he’s going to knock out his opponent or knock himself out. He looked good until he fought Dubois, and that was a case of poor opponent and game plan that robbed him of his best assets.
