Novak Djokovic played his first match since losing in the third round to Alexei Popyrin at the US Open.

Novak Djokovic won 6-0, 6-1 on Saturday against Ioannis Xilas, giving Serbia a 2-0 lead over Greece in their Davis Cup match against Greece.
The 37-year-old, who won the Davis Cup with Serbia in 2010, converted five of his seven break points to wrap up the match in just 45 minutes.
No. 4 in the PIF ATP Rankings is trying to help Serbia win its Group I match to advance to next year’s Davis Cup Qualifiers. Before that Miomir Kecmanovic beat Serbia 1-0 defeating Aristotelis Thanos 6-3, 6-3.
Djokovic is playing his first match since losing in four sets to Alexei Popyrin in the third round of the US Open. He aims to regain his form in the final two months of the season as he chases a place at November’s Nitto ATP. The final. The seven-time season finals champion is currently ranked ninth in the PIF ATP Live Race to Turin.
Casper Ruud secured a 3-1 victory for Norway in their Group I match against Portugal with a 7-6(3), 6-2 win over Jaime Faria.
Earlier, Ruud helped Norway take a 2-1 lead, winning the double rubber 7-5, 6-3 alongside Viktor Durasovic over Francisco Cabral and Jaime Faria.
There were stars yesterday in Friday’s tie for #NextGenATP players Henrique Rocha and Nicolai Budkov Kjaer.
Wimbledon Boys champion Budkov Kjaer won in three sets against Faria to put Norway 1-0. However, Portugal also had thanks to Rocha, who achieved the biggest win of his career with a 6-3, 6-4 upset of Ruud and a draw in Saturday’s matches.
