Illness forced Gael Monfils to unleash his wild card at next week’s Rolex Paris Masters.
A double winner in Paris in 2009 and 2010, Monfils withdrew from his Vienna round of 16 match due to illness and chose to give up his Paris card.
The Rolex Paris Masters is scheduled for October 28-November 3 in Bercy.
The departure of Monfils, 38, led to Arthur Rinderknech receiving the wild card Monfils had been given.
Souffrant, Gaël Monfils refuses to receive Rolex Paris Masters wild cards.

Rinderknech joins fRichard Gasquet, who announced his retirement after the 2025 Roland Garros, will play with Bercy for the 17th time, Adrian Mannarino and Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard as one of the four Frenchmen who will receive a Paris draw card.
The French Tennis Federation says Monfils is still playing another and could get a chance to enter the main tournament if other players withdraw.
