Let’s Talk About the Final Episodes and Final Credits of Poison: The Last Dance
Venom: The Last Dance it could be just that for this version of the character—but, of course, Venom will live on. The film’s closing and closing scenes hint at where things could go next and, now that the film is in cinemas, it’s time to talk about it all. Major spoilers below.
In the film’s grand finale, Venom removes himself from Eddie and dies, along with all the evil xenophages sent by Knull to protect the codex the two are carrying. As one of them (this time Venom) dies, the codex goes off again and keeps Knull in his unbreakable symbiote prison. Then Eddie went to New York, according to their plan, and that was that.
Or is it? We clearly see that Juno Temple’s character Dr. Teddy Payne survives and still has the symbiote in him. The movie kind of explains the reason Venom and Eddie got hold of the codex is because Venom used his powers to bring Eddie back to life, which was the key to unlocking this special codex. So, wif the human and the symbiote are still together, there is the power of resurrection, and thus the codex still exists. That gives hope to Knull, leading to that first credit scene.
The opening credits scene shows Knull in prison, promising to get out and that “the world will burn.” He then looked up, revealing his terrifying and terrifying face. Basically, the scene is though Venom: The Last Dance introduced this villain without really using him, he’s still on the table maybe we’ll see him again in the future.
That is followed by the film’s second credit scene, which shows Cristo Fernández’s alcoholic character escaping Area 55 after the war. Earlier in the movie, a version of this universal character was arrested but that story never ends. This is what happens, but not before we see a piece of the symbiote that might end up in there. Will Venom survive that? It seems possible.
Actually, The Last Dance it sounds like Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock’s last dance but in the infinite Marvel multiverse, there are still symbiotes, there are still humans linked to symbiotes, and there is still an evil being that can control or destroy any of them.
Personally, I didn’t find the above teasing compelling. The best part of Venom: The Last DanceEnding “Memories” Maroon 5 montage showing Eddie reminiscing about all the good times with Venom. It’s a wonderful, touching, and satisfying ending for this version of the character, which probably won’t be as high going forward, even with all the loose ends.
