One of the biggest surprises in movies this year was the failure of the Joker: Folie in Deux. Seeing how the 2019 Oscar-winning sequel, which broke the billion dollar record, is expected to return to the role of DC Joaquin Phoenix and be joined by Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn. For a number of reasons, the film did not perform very well, grossing less than $60 million domestically against a reported budget of $200 million.
Numbers like that lead us to believe that most people didn’t see The Joker 2-again, now is your chance to watch it without leaving your couch. Warner Bros. recently announced its domestic release plans for the film and will begin October 29 with digital and video-on-demand releases. It will be available in all major places: Apple, Amazon, Fandango, etc.
The digital release will be followed by its DVD, Blu-ray, and 4K releases on December 17. All of these (excluding the DVD release) share the same special features, which are detailed in the following press release:

Then there are four other elements that are not part of that film:

Let’s be honest here. Joker: Folie in Deux it’s not good. If it had been good, it would have been at least a moderate hit at the box office. But bad buzz, followed by bad reviews, killed it. (To illustrate, the original film has 68% from critics and 89% from fans on Rotten Tomatoes, while the sequel has 32% from both critics and fans). But it’s still a sequel The Jokerand clearly distinguishing, so you have to think when it comes home, people will be curious to check it out.
But, perhaps, they won’t be “paid for digital or disc ownership” they want to know. If so, you are talking about live streaming. And while there’s no news on when the Max movie will appear, we’re guessing it’ll be before the end of the year.
