Former world No. 1 Medvedev withdrew after collecting $1.5 million in earnings after absorbing a 6-0, 6-3 shellacking from No. Jannik Sinner at the Six Kings Slam event in Riyadh yesterday.
“I have never played anyone with the game that Sinner has shown,” said Medvedev, who is seeking his first ATP title in 2024.
Fritz, the 2024 US Open runner-up to Sinner, pulled out of Vienna because of what the tournament called a “muscle injury.”
