Blair Cobbs Gives Devin Haney the Coward Label

Blair Cobbs says Devin Haney is a “coward,” and he’s worried that if he beats him, the loss will somehow be erased from his record. A sparring session between the two fighters recently took place, showing Cobbs beating Haney at times, landing big shots.

Haney and Cobbs are rumored to be fighting next December. If this turns out to be true, it could be Haney’s comeback fight and his way to get his feet wet in the welterweight division. The 25-year-old Haney has moved up to the 140 lb division, and it would be a mistake for him to drop down a weight class for his next fight.

If Devin is fighting at 60% capacity due to the 20+ water weight he has to shed, even a tune-up-level fighter can defeat him. A second straight loss could lead to Haney’s usual disappearance. Moreover, he would no more in A-list and they are given the red carpet treatment at events. He will be just another fading competitor.

Haney is a fight Cobbs says he would love to have, but doubts it will happen. Haney is still sitting on the shelf after a bad experience, losing to Ryan Garcia on April 20. Some fans are wondering if Haney will ever be the same after the way Ryan put him through.

Cobbs (17-1-1, 10 KOs) didn’t like the way Haney (31-0, 15 KOs) reacted to his loss to Ryan, lamenting it instead of taking the loss with a stiff upper lip like a hero.

Blair says that the Ostarine that Ryan tested positive for did nothing to affect the outcome of the fight. In other words, Haney lost the fight because Ryan was the better player, and he had his number.

“Everybody saw the way you and Ryan a** whooped. You can react better to losing,” said Blair Cobbs on Fight Hub TV, talking about Devin Haney’s decision to go the official route following his April 20 loss to Ryan Garcia.

“Since you wanted to act the way you were, I didn’t start behaving like a coward after the loss. I stepped back. Do you think you can handle someone like me? You remember whooping, right? Come and get it, and I’ll take those pillowcases, and put yours on [blank] and show you what it really is, a coward. Do something about it,” Cobbs said.

The way Cobbs looked against Adrien Broner last June was going to be very difficult for Haney. Cobbs hits hard and was going to hunt down Haney all night. It may not go far.

“There were no discussions. In fact, there has been more talk about Conor Benn or Ennis than Devin Haney,” Cobbs told Marko when asked if there were any talks about a fight with Haney. “Anyway, it would be good for boxing.

“If I could fight anyone, it would be Ryan Garcia. I can wait, but it would be a battle worth waiting for. I would take the song and fight Ryan Garcia. I can push a heavy promotion. Once I win that battle, my star level will increase tenfold, twentyfold, and maybe a hundredfold.

“Maybe Devin would be the last fight I would want because they can’t lose. They will do it [Team Haney] you will start crying the whole way. They can’t lose. They will put you off [have loss erased]. They will do something. They are the wrong group of people who cannot afford to lose.

“You’ve come here doing what you’re doing, but when you get to this point, it’s time for you to gracefully bow out of defeat and be the champion that you are.” You can’t do that. So, all those awards are fake. “Everything that has happened up until now is a lie,” Cobbs said of Haney.

Ryan knocked a few chips out of Haney’s confidence with that three-punch, 12-round decision, and it doesn’t look good that he’s been sitting around doing nothing all this time other than getting back into the ring with one of the killers at 140. or 147. Haney could fight Sandor Martin, Liam Paro, whoever.

“You are not a true champion because where was Sugar Ray Leonard when he lost? He came back. “No, because Ostarine is not something that a blood doper would take,” Cobbs said when asked if he thought Haney should have made a big deal about Ryan Garcia’s PED test for their April 20 fight.

Haney had the opportunity to defend his WBA light welterweight title against Sandor Martin but chose not to accept the fight after a small purse bid. He was demoted from WBC champion to ‘Champion in Recess,’ and is no longer the 140-lb champion in that organization.

Haney should have taken that fight because it would have given him an opportunity to get an easy pay day and show the fans that he is back from his loss to Ryan. His decision to turn down the fight and lose his WBC title has led many fans to think that he has lost confidence due to his defeat.

“They really wouldn’t take very small doses of it as if it would do anything. Most of the time, they have Ostarine in many supplements. The thing is, the doses are so low that they don’t even carry the label. If you do these kinds of anti-blood-fishing things, they’re going to bring up all kinds of things, right? That doesn’t mean it will do anything.

“I’m going to show you all the supplements I take just to keep my a** alive in training camp. I’d bet that even though they have a high grade and great qualities, they have something like, ‘Yo, I don’t know what that is.’ I did a lot of research to know that Ostarine is the most common among the common supplements. Most of the time, supplements are contaminated with very small doses of Ostarine.

“Ostarine is not an enhancer at that level. “It only improves when it’s at a high level, and it’s combined with other things,” Cobbs said.

Whether Ostarine helped Ryan Garcia or not, we won’t know until he and Devin fight again. Haney’s father, Bill Haney, did not promise a 48-day drug test and it sounds like he still hasn’t mentally processed the truth of what happened last April. Bill still pretends to think Devin is on top of the world, undefeated in the truest sense, and is considered #1 in the 140.

Those things don’t work anymore. Ryan changed all that with his one-sided win over Haney, and Bill should understand that his son is considered yesterday’s news by the fans. It will remain so until Haney proves that he is not washed up.
