South Korean striker admits to filming sex videos

South Korean soccer player Hwang Ui-jo has apologized for secretly filming his partners.

Prosecutors said the 31-year-old striker filmed sex with two of his partners without their consent four times between June and September 2022.

In his first court appearance in Seoul on Wednesday, Hwang said he was “very sorry” for causing “disappointment”.

The former striker left England’s Nottingham Forest last month for Turkey’s Alanyaspor.

These videos appeared after Hwang’s sister-in-law circulated them on social media last June, trying to blackmail him.

He was sentenced to three years in prison in September for fraud after Hwang sued him.

However, the charges against him continued as the prosecutors said he filmed the videos illegally.

Prosecutors declined to release details about the women in the videos to avoid further harm.

“I will not do anything bad in the future and I will do my best as a footballer,” Hwang said at the court in Seoul.

“I am very sorry for the victims affected by my actions, and I am very sorry for the embarrassment I caused to all those who care about me and support me,” he added.
