Pandas from China have been spotted exploring a new home at the DC Zoo

The Smithsonian National Zoo in Washington DC has welcomed Bao Li and Qing Bao, China’s two giant pandas, as ‘panda diplomacy’ resumes between the two countries.

The zoo’s panda exhibit has been empty for 11 months since the last pandas were returned to China.

The pandas will be at the Smithsonian National Zoo as part of a new 10-year agreement. They will be isolated for at least 30 days to accommodate their transition to their new home.
