Now more than ever, Marvel is walking the tightrope to see if the shooting style of movies and TV shows will catch on with fans or miss the mark. While fans are often caught wearing tinted glasses while looking back at the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s many narrative and box office triumphs, The Black Panther actress Lupita Nyong’o has revealed that comic book high-ups are not sure about the film’s chances in its growing cinematic pantheon.
During the press junket for his new Disney movie Wild Robot at the BFI London Film Festival, Nyong’o told how Marvel was nervous Black Panther while still in production. According to the Hollywood Reporter, seeing this clip led Nyong’o to become silent and later revealed that he had not watched the film since Boseman passed away in 2020 due to colon cancer.
Nyong’o not only starred opposite Boseman as T’Challa’s lover, Nakia, but in real life she also became his best friend. Boseman’s passing led director Ryan Coogler to revise the story of The Black Panther succession Wakanda Forever honoring Boseman’s passing, allowing moviegoers and Boseman’s colleagues to mourn his passing.

“Sorrow is love, and there is no place to put it,” said Nyong’o. I don’t want to [to] run away from tears or sorrow. You just live with it. That experience will never be separated from the love that was formed,” said Lupita, after she politely refused to move on to another. Black Panther clip.
He went on to say: “When I watch this clip, I feel sad and I don’t know if I will ever stop crying because of the loss of my friend. But I can say, we see him alive. And that’s great.”
