Eddie Hearn Talks Beterbiev vs. Bivol Appeal Process 2

Promoter Eddie Hearn says he will make sure a rematch takes place between his fighter Dmitry Bivol and his winner, undisputed light heavyweight champion Artur Beterbiev.

Some would argue that instant replays hurt the sport by forcing fans to see an unnecessary second fight. It would be one thing for the Beterbiev-Bivol fight to be fun to watch, full of demolition drama. That was not the case here.

Bivol = Shakur 2.0

Bivol was on his bike the entire fight, running away from Beterbiev and fighting in a safety-first manner that fans around the world dislike. If this fight took place in Las Vegas, the fans would play it, and Bivol would be the cause. He fights a lot like Shakur Stevenson, who is based in the US who is not famous a fighter.

Bivol lost to Beterbiev last Saturday night, and should get a rematch over David Benavidez rather than be given a second fight on the silver plate because Hearn plans to appeal to the sanctioning bodies.

Matchroom promoter Hearn was upset that Beterbiev defeated his star Bivol by a 12-round majority decision last Saturday night at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh. If Bivol had won, to bring back a lot of money between him and Canelo Alvarez is possible.

Beterbiev ruined those plans by joining to defeat Bivol, who had the worst style of the entire fight, constantly moving, not sharing the ropes, and making the fight almost unwatchable for the fans watching.

Hearn says he will appeal to one of the governing bodies, which says Bivol (23-1, 12 KOs) deserves the win and should order a rematch. Another way is to ask them to make Bivol mandatory in Beterbiev.

None of this is necessary if His Excellency Turki Alalshikh wants a rematch of Beterbiev-Bivol and is willing to pay to play the fight in Riyadh again. However, the number of fans who do not want to see a rematch is increasing because they feel that Bivol, who was the WBA light heavyweight champion, is going to be boring again.

Exciting fighters are lined up to face Beterbiev, who will make for a fun watch. We already know what we’re going to get with Hearn’s fighter, Bivol. There will be a lot of movement, and it won’t be fun to watch.

“For me, I think we will see a rematch, and it was a very big fight that we had to push for that intersection,” said Eddie Hearn speaking to Matchroom Boxing, talking about the second fight that is expected to be a fight between his fighter Dmitry Bivol. and Artur Beterbiev.

“Sometimes you appeal to the governing bodies and say, ‘Look, we believe that we should have won that war. We think you should have ordered a repeat.” There are two ways to do it. You can order a duplicate, or you can order Dmitry Bivol as a bond. “One of those things will happen in my opinion,” Hearn said

Ideally, Bivol should fight David Benavidez vs. David Morrell won to get a rematch with Beterbiev rather than be given a direct shot after coming up short.

If there is going to be a rematch, Team Beterbiev should focus on a smaller ring to balance Bivol’s run because it will be fun to see him run around the ring for 12 rounds, playing dumb, trying to mess up. his way to victory.
