This month, Lego released one of its coolest songs ever star Wars it always puts. However, it is not a set that you can buy. It only comes with the purchase of a much larger, more expensive set—but if you have the means, not only is it worth it, it comes with a hidden surprise.
I recently opened my piggy bank to buy the Ultimate Collectors Series of Jabba’s Sail Barge, both because it’s awesome and because of that special gift. With every Sail Barge purchase comes a 1:1 Lego replica of Luke Skywalker’s lightsaber. Return of the Jedi. And, as someone who collects lighting fixtures, I had to have them. It’s only 145 pieces so it’s a small set but, when I was building it, I was shocked to see that it came with a kyber crystal.
Now, in the text of Star Wars, every lightsaber has a kyber crystal in it. They are basically the secret sauce that makes the blades come alive. However, you don’t see the crystal. It is inside the saber. Also, as you can see in the picture above, you don’t see the kyber crystal in the finished lightsaber structure. But it’s in there. Here are a few pictures.
As you can see, it’s made of two circular pieces of neon green, which matches the color of Luke’s saber that burns with it. And even if you, the builder, see them and fear them, you quickly cover them up, never to see them again.
But I love that. I like it a lot. This is why Lego is simply one of the best toy brands out there. That information is that only a person has deep love and knowledge star Wars insist and put it there. It’s delicious.
However, it presents a major problem. Why doesn’t Lego make these lightsaber sets more often? The Sabers are undoubtedly the most popular division star Wars iconography and, with only a few hundred pieces each, would make an excellent Lego gift star Wars fan in your life, at an affordable price point. Sets of about 150-200 pieces are usually between $15 and $50. Much better than the $500 it cost you to get this one. Which also comes with the amazing Sail Barge, but, still.
So, this Luke Skywalker lightsaber set is awesome, it has a kyber crystal in it, and we want to buy a million more. star Wars lightsabers are like this. Which would you like to see first?
