There is a marked improvement in bass performance compared to previous Beats Pill speakers. While the Pill+ had a dual-tweeter and dual-woofer setup, the latest model has one of each. The new woofer is larger and pill-shaped to match the speaker’s body and “provides tighter bass with less harmonic distortion (THD) and a lower frequency range,” according to Engadget senior reporter Billy Steele.
At higher volumes, the sound gets muffled, but the Beats Pill is loud for a long time before you turn it up. When the speaker is connected to an audio source via USB-C, it can deliver lossless sound. You can also amplify the sound by placing two Beats tablets next to each other or pairing them for stereo sound.
Battery life is certainly a plus, as it doubles that of previous models at 24 hours. This model is stronger than the Beats Pill+ as well.
