One person died after an explosion at Karachi airport in Pakistan

One person has been killed and six others injured after gunfire erupted near Pakistan’s main airport, officials said.

The blast took place near the Jinnah International Airport in Karachi on Sunday night.

It is said that it was heard in different parts of the city and nearby cars were also damaged.

The cause of the explosion is not yet known, but the Interior Minister of Sindh province, Zia-ul-Hasan Linjar, was reported by GEO News to have suspected an improvised explosive device (IED) strike.
