Beterbiev-Bivol Undercard Available On DAZN
DAZN revealed today that the undercard of Artur Beterbiev vs. Dmitry Bivol will be shown on October 12 as part of the general subscription in the US and Canada.
British heavyweights Fabio Wardley (17-0-1, 16 KOs) and Frazer Clarke (8-0-1, 6 KOs) will meet in a 12-round bout on DAZN. The two boxers fought for 12 rounds on March 31 at the O2 Arena in London earlier this year.
Wardley will defend his British heavyweight title against 2020 Olympic super heavyweight bronze medalist Clarke. In their previous fight, Wardley suffered a severe facial injury from Clarke’s heavy hands, which he had placed on him.
The clash between joint heavyweight champion Artur Beterbiev and WBA champion Dmitry Bivol will be broadcast on ESPN+ on non-PPV.
Fights on DAZN on October 12
– Fabio Wardley vs. Frazer Clarke
– Chris Eubank Jr. vs. Kamil Szeremeta
– Jai Opetaia vs. Jack Massey
– Skye Nicolson vs. Raven Chapman
– Ben Whittaker vs. Liam Cameron
– Mohammed Alakel vs. Jesus Gonzalez
Middleweight athlete Chris Eubank Jr. will face Kamil Szeremeta in the second fight under the main event on DAZN. After all these years, Eubank Jr. (33-3, 24 KOs) the 35-year-old is still slowly working towards a world title.
It’s hard to believe it took Eubank Jr. so long to climb the ranks to win the belt after losing to WBA super middleweight champion George Groves via a 12-round unanimous decision six years ago in 2018.
Eubank Jr. he was making good money fighting against local and European teams, which may be one of the reasons for not showing any urgency to put himself at the top of the world. It helps if you’re the son of a famous British hero. The money just comes in.
The top fight on the card for American fans is IBF cruiserweight champion Jai Opetaia (25-0, 19 KOs), who will be defending against #11 Jack Massey (22-2, 12 KOs). These should be decent pieces for as long as they last.
It’s not clear if Massey was the best Opetaia could get to defend against because a better opponent would be Yuniel Dorticos, Richard Riakporhe, or Cheavon Clarke.
He wants to see a strong person who can beat Opetaia and come back to get respect because if they don’t have pops in their pictures, they blow themselves up. Opetaia looked shy in his last fight against Mairis Briedis when he started getting hit hard, and turned into a runner in Shakur Stevenson mode.
That came as a surprise to many fans, as they previously viewed Opetaia as unbeatable, but he looked human last May in his bout with Briedis in Riyadh. This time around, Opetaia has been handed a no-hitter, so he’ll do well against Massey without having flashbacks to the Briedis fight.
