In what Lacoste called “an unprecedented meeting between two world icons”, Djokovic visited the Great Wall, a UNESCO world heritage site.
“For more than 90 years, we have been driven by the values of innovation, creativity, and excellence, inherited from René Lacoste himself,” said Thierry Guibert, CEO of Lacoste. “We are very proud to once again break the mold with this unusual combination: tennis legend Novak Djokovic and the iconic Great Wall. A powerful symbol of unity and beauty, this site provides a unique backdrop to celebrate the fusion of heritage and innovation, perfectly reflecting the essence of our vision at Lacoste.”
This global initiative, launched in Paris in April 2024 with the “Play Big” campaign, is a true expression of courage, beauty, and creativity. The Great Wall, one of the Seven Wonders of the World and the only man-made structure visible from space, sets a new record by hosting the event.
As a symbol of the connection between the two cultures, the Great Wall was illuminated in the bright colors of Lacoste, where a magnificent tennis court was unveiled.
Lacoste Ambassador Wang Yibo, one of Asia’s most influential young artists, was on hand to welcome Novak Djokovic.
