Andrey Rublev has a great chance to take a trip to the PIF ATP Live Race To Turin this week at the China Open in Beijing and improve his chances of qualifying for the Nitto ATP Finals for the fifth season in a row.
Going into his second round match on Monday against Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, Rublev is ranked seventh in the Live Race. On Wednesday, the 26-year-old could move up to fifth place.
With fifth-seeded Taylor Fritz and sixth-seeded Casper Ruud losing earlier this week in Tokyo at the Kinoshita Group Japan Open Tennis Championships, Rublev could meet his rivals.
Rublev will overtake Ruud in sixth place for reaching the Beijing final (3,810 points) and Fritz for fifth place in lifting the trophy (3,980 points). He may play two matches on Monday, needing to complete his match with Davidovich Fokina and in-form Chinese player Buyunchaokete waiting in the quarter-finals.

Third-seeded Carlos Alcaraz moved to just five points clear of second-placed Alexander Zverev in the Live Race to advance to the quarterfinals in Beijing. She will advance to Germany with a win in the last eight against seventh seed Karen Khachanov.
Both men are well behind top seed Jannik Sinner, who is in good shape for the ATP Year-End No. 1 presented by PIF awards. The Italian could strengthen his standing by claiming a career-best seventh ATP Tour title this season.
Soni, Zverev and Alcaraz are the only men to have finished the season so far. The Nitto ATP Finals will be held at the Inalpi Arena in Turin from 10-17 November.
Fourth-placed Daniil Medvedev is next in line for qualification and is in good shape to secure his place at the year-end tournament for the sixth consecutive season. Like Sinner and Alcaraz, he is in the Beijing quarter-finals.
