Ryan Garcia Wants Tuneup Early 2025

Ryan Garcia says he wants to be active when he returns to work in early 2025. His suspension expires on April 20, 2025, and he will be out of the ring for a year. Garcia is coming off a victory over Devin Haney last April in Brooklyn in a brutal fight.

Garcia didn’t say who he has in mind for his return, but someone like Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero could be a good fit. That fight will be sold while giving Ryan a chance to get back in the ring to shake off the rust.

Ryan calls his suspension “Prison” because it made him not compete, make money, and use his fame. With that performance, Ryan could make a lot of money against Haney in the competition, Gervonta Davis, Teofimo Lopez, or Shakur Stevenson. The options available to Ryan were limitless.

The victory raised Ryan’s popularity to another level. Unfortunately, he tested positive for the banned substance, Ostanine, and was suspended by the New York Commission. His win was expunged, and Haney’s loss was expunged from his record.

The suspension prevents Ryan from capitalizing on the fame he gained from the fight. It was also puzzling that Haney, who was left out of set pieces, couldn’t try to avenge his loss in a rematch. The suspension hurt Haney more than Ryan because he couldn’t redeem himself.

If it weren’t for the stoppage, these boxers may have booked a lucrative rematch. Haney has not fought since the loss, but is expected to return in December to continue working.
