Dubois believes he will improve in the Joshua Rematch

Daniel Dubois says there is room for improvement in the rematch with Anthony Joshua if AJ chooses to fight him again. Dubois wants to “get more healthy” next time he faces Joshua (28-4, 25 KOs), and he thinks he can.

It’s hard to imagine Dubois improving on his performance against AJ last Saturday night because it was so close. It would be a disaster if Dubois played his relentless, bomb-eating style to add more punch to his game.
Joshua has yet to talk about taking a rematch, and may choose to avoid Dubois and focus on pursuing money fights. He can collect a big purse against Tyson Fury next, and that’s what his promoter, Eddie Hearn, is interested in.
Last Saturday night, Dubois (22-2, 21 KOs) knocked out Joshua in the fifth round in a successful defense of his IBF heavyweight title at Wembley Stadium in London. Joshua had talked about wanting to be a three-time champion, and he seemed overconfident about doing so.
“Yes, if that happens, I will follow you. I will do even better next time. I know what I need to improve on. I just want to prove people wrong all the time, and that’s what we’ve been doing. Next time, I believe I will be very sick,” said Daniel Dubois speaking to talkSport Boxing about his interest in a rematch with Anthony Joshua.
It would be better for Dubois to put Joshua out of his mind and focus on real fights. He probably won’t get a chance to fight Joshua or who will win Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk 2, too.
The way Dubois plays against AJ could scare the top guys because their managers will focus on unwinnable fights that include big paydays. The realistic options for Dubois are these fighters:
– Joseph Parker
– Zhilei Zhang
– Dillian Whyte
– Martin Bakole
“Or one. Whoever pays me the most,” Dubois said when asked if he would prefer a rematch with Joshua instead of a fight with Fury-Usyk who won the fight.
