We’re two weeks away from October, and you know what that means: scary time. While Alien: Romulus again Beetlejuice juice they clean up in the theaters, there are scary things coming on TV, and Pigogo hopes to sing for his new show, The Teacup.
Created by Ian McCulloch (Yellowstone) and the executive produced by Integration James Wan, the series stars Yvonne Strahovski and Scott Speedman as a married couple living on an isolated farm in rural Georgia. But things start to get weird: the animals cross paths, their young son goes missing, and after his return, a mysterious man wearing a gas mask draws a line to tie up the farm. And according to the child, others something it is coming that the farmers must protect themselves from. Worse yet, if they cross that barrier created by the masked man…well, it looks like bad things are going to happen.
The Teacup inspired by Robert McCammon’s 1988 novel Stinger, which McCulloch called “the elusive, dramatic spectacle of the novel.” At Comic-Con this past July, he explained how Wan’s production company Atomic Monster approached him about the adaptation. Stinger on television, despite its focus on “big stories told through small lenses” (think Symptoms again A Quiet Place), the letter “would not leave me alone. I couldn’t stop thinking about its sharp base, how it happened during one hard day. […] That’s when the idea of the flash-bang light-bulb came.”
Also starring Chaske Spencer, Kathy Baker, and Boris McGiver, Peacock will premiere Teacup’s the first two episodes on October 10, followed by two episodes a week until they wrap up on Halloween.
