Monument Valley 3 breaks the classic boundaries of the series by adding a sailboat
Among , some details about Monument Valley 3 it appeared. Developer Ustwo Games says it builds on its predecessors in several ways, particularly in terms of gameplay, art style and story.
Perhaps the biggest change in Monument Valley 3 the launch of sailing. You will be able to move the boat in almost any direction and, as a result, “the game is no longer limited to geometric spaces,” said game director Jennifer Estaris while talking to reporters. As well as unlockable cubes that transform the new character Noor into different planes, Monument Valley 3 it’s mostly about “deconstructing what we know,” Estaris said.
Naturally, those changes allow for new puzzles and visuals as players navigate seemingly impossible, MC Escher-style environments. In line with that, Ustwo has evolved an art style with soft and abstract shapes (you will be wading through rivers, after all). The result is something that looks very familiar, but like a faded memory. Meanwhile, an 18-part orchestral piece may evoke some emotions.
While the original game was about forgiveness and its sequel was a coming-of-age tale, Monument Valley 3 focuses on themes of hope, unity and resilience. Noor is an apprentice lighthouse keeper tasked with finding a new source of power before the light disappears from the world forever. It’s the “most important story” to date for the Monument Valley game, according to Ustwo marketing manager Jamie Wotton.
All three Monument Valley games are standalone titles with their own stories. That means you’ll be able to sneak in Monument Valley 3 without playing the previous two entries. But there’s plenty of time to look at those first (or revisit them). You won’t have to pay extra for those classic mobile games if you subscribe to Netflix.
