The funeral of a Ugandan Olympian who was killed by his former teammate is being held

Thousands of people attended the funeral of Rebecca Cheptegei, Uganda.

The Olympian marathon runner was his ex-partner was killedfollowing a dispute over land.

Members of the Ugandan army carried Cheptegei’s coffin and saluted, as he was part of the army.

The BBC’s Africa reporter, Anne Soy, attended the funeral and commented on how the crowds came to pay their respects to the athlete.
