Days after Vice President Kamala Harris and former president Donald Trump went head-to-head in their first (and so far, only) televised debate, the memes don’t seem to be slowing down.

After Trump’s consistent and baseless claim that immigrants in Springfield, Ohio, are “eating cats” continues to circulate online—”In Springfield, they’re eating dogs, people coming in,” Trump said during the debate. “They eat cats. They eat, they eat the pets of the people who live there.”
As you can imagine, the internet went haywire The Simpsons memes. One meme combined his words with an animated clip from the popular show set in Springfield. “Donald Trump thinks he lives in it The Simpsons,” one X user wrote, alongside a clip of the show where they actually cook dog soup. Another saw a clip of Bart Simpson writing “Dogs eat dogs” over and over again on a chalkboard.
(The Trump camp, meanwhile, has doubled down on these lies, posting AI-generated images depicting Trump as the savior of fluffy cats and ducks.)

Asked repeatedly whether or not he has a health care plan, Trump bluntly replied, “I have ideas for a plan, and you’ll hear more soon.”

“You wore a face of pity and disgust”
While many pegged Harris as the winner of the debate, even receiving an endorsement from superstar Taylor Swift after the debate ended, the vice president’s angry facial expression has also made its way into the meme library. “Go away math lady . . . there’s a new meme in town #debate,” one X user wrote. “Kamala’s inability to control her facial expressions is something I liken to #PresidentialDebate2024,” wrote another.
Some on the Internet found Harris’ remarks too familiar. “She knows the face of compassion and disgust at the same time, and every woman knows that’s the most important *combination*,” wrote another X user. One simply added: “People, when you see this face . . . run.”
