Salesforce Introduces New AI Models to Power Agentforce

Salesforce introduced two new types of AI—xGen-Sales again xLAM-designed to enhance its Agentforce platform, which combines human and autonomous AI agents to improve business efficiency.
xGen-Sales a proprietary AI model optimized for sales-related tasks, such as generating customer information, shortening calls, and managing pipelines. It automates routine sales tasks, allowing sales agents to focus on more strategic tasks. This model leverages Agentforce’s ability to automate customer interactions, grow pipelines, and help sales teams with greater speed and accuracy.
I xLAM (Big Action Model) family presents AI models designed to perform complex tasks and trigger actions within business systems. Unlike traditional LLMs (Large Language Models), which are content-driven, xLAM models specialize in task invocation—allowing AI agents to act autonomously, such as executing workflows or processing data without human intervention. xLAM models vary in size and power, from small, portable models to larger, more robust models for industrial applications.
Salesforce AI Research developed xLAM models using APIGena proprietary data generation pipeline that helped improve model performance. Earlier versions of xLAM models have already outperformed other major models in key benchmarks. For example, i xLAM-8x22B the model is ranked #1 on the Berkeley Leaderboards, surpassing even larger models such as the GPT-4.
These innovations are designed to enable businesses to scale AI-driven workflows effectively. Organizations using these models can now automate complex operations, improve sales processes, and increase resource allocation.
Non-commercial xLAM models are available on Hugging Face for public review, while proprietary versions will power Agentforce. xGen-Sales has completed its testing phase and will soon be available for general use.
