Boxing results: Kevin Hayler Brown defeats John ‘El Terrible’ Bauza
WBA Continental Americas champion Kevin Hayler Brown and John ‘El Terrible’ Bauza on Friday night at Caribe Royale Orlando, Orlando, Florida.
In the main event, WBA Continental Americas Super Light champion Brown (6-0. 3 KOs) defeated the tough Bauza (18-2, 8 KOs) over ten rounds, scoring once in the first round.
In the first round, Bauza outboxed Brown most of the time until the last minute, when Brown landed a right to the body, knocking Bauza out with an 8 count by Referee Massimino Montanini. In the third round, with one minute left, Brown landed a right to the body, hurting Bauza, who returned to Brown.
In the fourth round, Brown’s body attack won him the round, although Bauza hung back hard.
In the final seconds of the sixth round, Bauza finished strong, trying to steal the round. In the seventh round, Brown had the edge in a close round. In the last minute of the eighth round, Bauza again finished off two powerhouses.
In the ninth round, it was close, with Brown on the edge. In the tenth and final round, Bauza harassed Brown several times. It even looked like Bauza’s knock down was hit by the referee, and Brown finished with a strong finish.
The scores were 99-93, 98-91, and 97-92.
Super lightweight Hendri ‘La Bazuca’ Cedeno (14-0, 11 KOs) stopped southpaw Enrico ‘Gudan’ Gogokhia (13-2-2, 8 KOs) after five rounds of the scheduled eight rounds.
In the first two rounds, Cedeno controlled his hand speed. In the third round, Gogokhia landed a uppercut on Cedeno’s chin midway through the round.
In the fourth round, Cedeno came back with good punches in another close round. In the fifth round, it was all Cedeno. Between rounds, Gogokhia’s corner stopped due to Gogokhia’s left shoulder injury.
The referee was Alicia Collins.
Southpaw Yoelvis ‘La Joya’ Gomez (8-1, 7 KOs) stopped southpaw Diego ‘Mexicano’ Ferreira (11-3, 7 KOs) after four rounds of the scheduled eight rounds.
In the middle part of the first round, Gomez landed a hard right hook to the chin, stunning Ferreira. In the final seconds, a right hook from Gomez to the chin rocked Ferreira. In the second and third rounds, Gomez knocked out Ferreira.
In the fourth round, Gomez drew blood from Ferreira’s nose and injured him several times, and in the final seconds Gomez was injured by Ferreira. Ferreira’s corner called for a stoppage.

Bantamweight Carlos ‘Prettyboy’ Lebron (3-1-1, 3 KOs) ended in a four-round majority draw with Luis Quiles (2-0-1, 1 KO).
In the first two rounds, Lebron took out Quiles. In the third round, Quiles came back well and was able to take the round. The fourth and final round was close with Lebron having the finish.
The referee was Alicia Collins. The score was 39-37 Lebron, 38-38 twice.
