Come September 21st at Wembley Stadium, in a heavyweight title fight to be broadcast on DAZN PPV – IBF heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois will put his title on the line for the first time against the former two-time heavyweight champion. Anthony Joshua.

Joshua has been a two-time United heavyweight champion, and his second reign ended when he lost to Usyk back in September 2021. After losing his rematch against Usyk the following year, AJ was at a low point in his professional career. he has lost 3 of his last 5 in that span. Joshua has also made Usyk four wins in a row, against Jermaine Franklin, who has replaced the late Robert Helenius, Otto Wallin, and recently shown strength against Francis Ngannou.
Meanwhile, Dubois himself has only had one major world championship fight, and that was in August of last year when he was stopped by Oleksandr Usyk himself. Since that loss, Dubois beat Jarrell Miller last December on Boxing Day of Reckoning, and most recently stopped Filip Hrgovic in June to win the IBF interim championship. Shortly after, Usyk vacated the IBF belt and Dubois was promoted from interim champion to the real IBF. So Dubois will be making his first official title defense against AJ, except Dubois has never won a fight involving a world championship.
