Christopher Reeve’s DC Documentary Looks Incredibly Heartbreaking

We may still have some time to wait before we can enjoy James Gunn’s take on the Man of Steel, but that’s not stopping DC Studios from reminding fans how the OG cinematic Superman had a goatee in its upcoming Christopher Reeve documentary. .

Today Warner Bros. and DC Studios have dropped a trailer for Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story. As one might guess from the title, the documentary examines how Reeves went from being a classic character to the best iteration of the superhero. Interspersed between the trailer’s program interviews and home video of Reeves rehearsing and performing various plays are interview segments with Susan Sarandon, and her children, Alexandra Reeve Givens and Matthew Reeve—who will appear in Gunn’s play. Superman the movie.

As well as highlighting Reeve’s pivotal role, the documentary will show Reeve’s time as Superman from 1978 to 1987, and how he transformed his disability from a 1995 horse-riding accident to a powerful life as a disability activist.
