Tom Cruise Must Save The World, Again, In His New WB Movie

After years of playing superheroes who often save the world, Tom Cruise jumped ship from Paramount to Warner Bros. to…play a super talented man who will save the world.

On Friday, Deadline offered a sneak peek of Cruise’s upcoming, currently untitled film with Alejandro G. Iñárritu. According to a source, the film centers on “the most powerful man in the world,” and after he unleashes a disaster on the world, it’s up to him to prove his worth and stop it. That is a very bad situation, above all because it is not clear what the ruin means is something and that he intended to put you in the world from the beginning. And what makes Cruise’s character the strongest? We’ll have to wait and find out.

Along with the logline, Deadline revealed the set of actors who will be joining the film. Our supporting cast includes Fall’s Anatomy Sandra Hüller, Flower Moon Killers Jesse Plemons, Sophie Wilde (talk to me), John Goodman (That’s right Precious stones) and Michael Stuhlbarg (Bones and All). There is another possibility in Riz Ahmed (You are jealous), who is currently said to be in discussions for this program. Like much else about the film, their roles in the story are kept tightly under wraps.

Whatever Iñárritu and Cruise’s movie is, it’s going to be a big deal. Cruise teamed up with WB in January to develop and produce the films, both originals and franchise spin-offs. As the first film of this new effort, this marks an important point in his career. Maybe this leads to revisiting fan favorites, or maybe you’re trying to challenge yourself with new things. Either way, color us interested in what he does next on the big screen.
