There are many different shenanigans in between Deadpool and Wolverine, especially a different Deadpool army in the third act. The most popular in this group was Lady and Baby, but there were others who did not participate in this program.
With the movie now in production, the film’s concept artists revealed some of their work, and David Masson gave a look at the two Deadpools that should have been benched. The first one, Wolverinepool, describes itself as Wade’s version of Logan’s clothes, with his colors and style. (Will this be played by Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, or will they split the difference somehow?) Another Masson showed was Punkpool, a rocker type with studs and spikes in his suit. You have to think he was inspired by Spider-Punk in some way, and it would have been cool if he was seen with twin guitars instead of katanas.
My partner Andy Park showed his mastery of the concept, and his biggest version of ‘Pool was Robpool. Park called this an homage to the character’s creator Rob Liefeld as part of an “exciting series” of changes to Deadpool’s costume during pre-production. This version has “classic Liefeld-isms” you might say: “exaggerated muscles, bags, swords, shoulder pads, his original costume color break and realistic eye position.” All that’s missing are the exaggerated feet, and it’s a full package. Park also showed off the art of Deadpool jumping into the MCU: Marvel Jokes The universe. This would take place during his various attempts to find Wolverine, and each of the Avengers he met would be done in the vein of the famous comic book artist.
According to Park, his artwork (and possibly Masson’s) will be featured in it Deadpool & Wolverine’s art book, which is expected to hit stores on October 29.
