Live Results From Quebec: Mbilli Vs. Derevyanchenko Today

Super middleweight Christian Mbilli (28-0, 23 KOs) remained undefeated with a ten-round unanimous decision over former three-time world champion Sergy Derevyanchenko (15-6, 10 KOs) on Saturday night at the Videotron in Quebec. City, Quebec, Canada.

The scores were 100-90, 99-91 and 98-92. Boxing News 24 scored Mbilli 8-2. Derevyanchenko, 38, injured his left bicep in the fourth round, and fought with his right arm for the rest of the fight.

Mbilli’s Rabbit Hits the Key

In the seventh round, Derevyanchenko hurt Mbilli and knocked him out but he couldn’t put him away. The rest of the fight was lopsided with Mbilli surrounding the injured Derevyanchenko in the ring, throwing several illegal rabbit punches and running away.

He should have lost points due to illegal punches to the back of the head that he seemed to be focusing on. That was a big part of Mbilli’s case, targeting rabbit fists.

Guido Vianello (13-2-1, 11 KOs) earned an eighth-round stoppage over Arslanbek Makhmudov (19-12, 18 KOs) at heavyweight. The ringside doctor advised the fight to be stopped early in the eighth round due to swelling in Makhmudov’s badly swollen left eye. Makhmudov was awarded a point by shoving Vianello over the ropes in the sixth round

The 6’5″ Makhmudov’s large left eye began to swell in the third round from Vianello’s repeated right hands.

Osleys Iglesias (12-0, 11 KOs) scored a quick second round win over Sena Agbeko (28-4, 22 KOs) at super middleweight. Cuban Iglesias knocked Agbeko down with a left combination late in the first round. In the second round, Iglesias ran over the still injured Agbeko, prompting the referee to step in and stop the fight. The stoppage time was 1:16 in the second round.

Abdullah Mason (15-0, 13 KOs) looked dominant, knocking out Mike Ohan Jr. (19-3, 9 KOs) in the second round with a two-knockout performance. The fight was stopped at 0:40 of the second round after Mason, 20, hit Ohan with a hook to the head and caught him with a left hand down the pipe.

In the first round, Mason dropped Ohan with a left uppercut. It was late in the round when Mason took advantage of Ohan, who was leaning forward and caught him with a well-placed uppercut to the head.

Ohan Jr. he looked surprised after getting up, but made it through the last ten minutes of the round before the bell rang. In the opening minutes of the second round, Mason finished Ohan Jr. by knocking him down a second time. After he got back to his feet, the fight was waved off by the referee.

Wilkens Mathieu took a unanimous decision against Facundo Nicolas Galovar in a super middleweight bout that did little to excite the crowd.
