The best deals ahead of October’s Big Deal Days sale and everything we know so far

Starting in 2022, Amazon is holding a Big Day for the fall of brands in October and that sales event will return this year. Prime Big Deal Days returns on October 8 and 9, but we’re already starting to see some great deals from Amazon’s site.

As always, many of the deals we’ve been expecting to see for October Prime Day will be exclusive to Prime members — and some of the first Prime Day deals we’re seeing now have followed suit. If you don’t have a prime membership, don’t worry too much – there are always a few discounts available for all shoppers. However, if you’re paying $139 a year for Prime, now’s the time to make the most of it. These are the best Prime Day deals we’ve found ahead of Prime Big Deal Days. We’ll be updating this post regularly before Big October, so check back for the latest deals.

It’s a safe bet that we’ll see a lot of Amazon gear discounted on October Prime Day, but for now, you can pick up a Fire tablet on sale, as well as the Ring and Blink security cameras for much less than usual.

Early Prime Day deals in tech include discounts on robot vacuums, webcams, smart plugs and more. There are also wireless earbuds and smartphones you can pick up cheaply, as well as storage gear and power banks.

While these discounts aren’t technically October’s Prime day deals, we’d be remiss if we didn’t mention them. While sales on streaming services are becoming more and more common, there’s no rhyme or reason to them like there should be, say, Amazon’s Prime Day sales cycle. That said, if you see a discount on a service you’ve been meaning to try, it’s worth jumping on.

October Prime Day is a member-only sales event run by Amazon where the online retailer has thousands of sales on its site that are only available to active members.

Many October Prime Day deals won’t be revealed until the days of the event. However, over the years, we have seen everything from clothing to home essentials to outdoor items sold during this event. Engadget is obsessed with tech deals, and in past Prime Days, we’ve seen things like phones, tablets, headphones, earbuds, robot vacuums, smart home gear and more get deep discounts.

Yes, because most of the deals will be Prime only. However, there are always a few decent deals available to all Amazon shoppers, so it’s worth checking Amazon’s site during October Prime Day to see where you can save or not pay for Prime.

  • Apple 24-inch Mac (M3) for $1,100 ($200 off): The discount and the attached coupon bring the final price of this Apple desktop down to the lowest we’ve seen.

  • Apple Magic Mouse (black) for $85 ($15 off): I the white version of Apple’s popular accessories is still cheap at $68, but the black color is rarely sold. Both mice pair quickly and are relatively easy to use with responsive touch.

  • Apple iPad Air (13-inch) for $720 ($80 off): A large model of Our favorite iPad returns to one of its normal prices. It’s about $20 more than its record low, but still a good deal if you’ve been eyeing the 13-inch Air.

  • Apple Pencil (first generation) for $69 ($30 off): If you have a 10th-gen iPad or older, this is the style to get. We’ve seen this discount for a few weeks now, but it’s still $10 off the regular price. It is also reduced by Walmart.

  • Samsung Pro Plus microSD card for $100 ($20 off): This newly released, 1TB variant is down to its best price yet. Pro Plus is a top pick in our guide microSD cards are the best.

  • Beats Fit Pro earbuds for $159 ($41 off): Our favorite pair overall earbuds to work they are on sale for $41. They’ve hit this price point several times over the past few months, but it’s a good discount on buds that we’ve found to be comfortable with a secure fit and excellent sound quality.

  • Beats Studio Buds for $99 ($51 off): They are a he is old yet, but the Studio Buds are always a decent buy for under $100.

  • Amazon Echo Show 5 + Bundle Smart Light Bundle for $60 ($50 off): This bundle offers you one of our favorites smart displays (which makes a great alarm clock) and our top picks the best smart lights direct at 45 percent off.
