The House of the Dragon Star in that Last Strange Vision

In The House of the Beast In season two, Heleana Targaryen (Phia Saban) doesn’t get along with Daemon Targaryen (Matt Smith)—until the end, when he shows up at Daemon’s. Game of Thrones-reference to the vision of the future. Considering the characters’ strongest bond to date is that Helena’s son was killed as the second-choice target by Daemon’s hired assassins to kill Helena’s brother, Aemond (Ewan Mitchell), it was a surprising moment.

That A Song of Ice and Fire combination is also the main thing anyone is talking about The House of the Beast conclusion, so Variety asked Saban what he thought of the incident. We first see Helena in Daemon’s vision—she tells him “You know your part… not who will go with him to war. Moreover, he knows how he will die.

“My feeling is not that he was giving Daemon advice because he wanted him to succeed,” Saban told reporters. “I think choosing between one team and another suggests that you think anything is possible, and I think to some extent, you feel you’re going beyond that. He has a clear vision of this imminent end. And I wouldn’t say he knows by birth, but I think he knows enough to be the same, it’s not about who’s next on the throne—we’re all going in the same direction.

“I would also say about the scene with Daemon, it’s a little bit left of what the audience thinks about how much he is—he’s there in his dream. Maybe she’s just showing off something she wants to tell herself, especially since she’s hurt him so much with his son and all. From a psychoanalytical point of view, maybe it’s all about him, and maybe that’s not the reality.”

Saban also thinks about what Helena told her brother. “I don’t think he thinks it’s going to change his ways,” he said. “It’s only been a while since he’s been on his own.”

Head over to Variety to read the entire interview, which includes Saban’s public announcement that he really wants Helena to get a flashback up front. The House of the Beast reaches its end.
