Since opening in 2020, 3’s has become a one-stop, short course for all-ages fun in Greenville, SC, revolving around great food, great vibes and engaging par-3 golf.

As a golf and hospitality concept, it is one of a kind.

Come next year, however, the first 3 will no longer be able to stand alone.

Building on the success of the Greenville site, the 3’s, in partnership with 8AM Golf and Justin Timberlake, have acquired an existing par-3 course in Charlotte, NC, which they plan to transform into a second 3. As part of the transformation, Pebble Creek Golf Course , in Indian Trail, will undergo a major renovation, bringing the iconic 3’s statue to North Carolina’s fastest-growing metropolitan area. The opening date is set for late 2025.

“We wanted to make sure we got the first one right, and we have,” said 3 founder Davis Sezna. “What excites me most now is how good the next one can be.”

Like the Greenville location, the Charlotte 3’s will feature 12 holes on 3 under lights, housed in a clubhouse restaurant called the Grubhouse, serving fresh inspired food and drinks. The inviting atmosphere will be accented by music, fireplaces and Adirondack chairs overlooking the Himalayas-style putting green.

For all its similarities to the original 3’s, the Charlotte site will boast an additional Grubhouse with a larger and more varied menu. The putting green, too, will be nearly twice the size of Greenville.

In order to renovate the course, Pebble Creek will be transformed into a Goldilocks layout, a challenge for skilled players but enjoyable for golfers of all ages and abilities. The broad appeal of golf is meant to match the warmth of the hospitality.

“We’re looking at a lot of opportunities in golf, and our team long ago identified non-traditional golf as a key growth area,” said Trey Marucci, 8AM’s chief strategy officer. “We were very impressed with what Davis did at Greenville, and we knew that if anyone could make golf fun for everyone, it was him.”

Even as work continues in the Charlotte area, Marucci said plans are underway to expand the 3 concept to other sites. Several have already been identified, although Marucci said it was too early to reveal those locations or when they might open.

“We are already checking places three, four, five, six and seven,” he said. “We’re excited to take this across the country, and hopefully around the world.”
