Many of the corruption investigations have reached people on the trail of Mayor Eric Adams of New York, Mr. Adams and some of the top officials in his administration are being scrutinized.

Officials from the US attorney’s office in the Southern District of New York in Manhattan, which is conducting three of the four criminal investigations, declined to answer questions about the scope of the inquiries.

The full scope of the government’s investigation is unclear. Neither the mayor nor others whose homes were searched, their tools seized or information sought from them were charged with a crime, and it is possible that some of those targeted are only witnesses. The city’s Department of Investigation is involved in all four inquiries.

Federal prosecutions and civil lawsuits also plagued the Adams administration.

Here’s a closer look at how people with ties to Mr. Adams, who is up for re-election next year, are related to the investigation.

Last November, the Brooklyn home Brianna Suggsthe great collector of mr. Adams at that time, was searched by government agents. Weeks later, he said he would leave the place.
